Chantix may be used to stop alcoholism ^new

Chantix / Champix is approved to help smokers in smoking cessation. In the recent new research, rats educated to consume cut down their addiction by half after having consumed just a single dose of Chantix (Varenicline). Scientists think that this medicine is promising and could help drinkers in quitting alcohol.

Chantix has efficacy to function better than available medicine treatments devised for alcoholism. In the experiment with rats, was recorded that when rats were not medicated with Chantix / Champix , they reverted to the same level of drinking that they used to follow in stead of recoiling to higher or excessive drinking which is common with current drug treatments.

New clinical trials to study Chantix's efficiency for the treatment of alcoholism in humans will be made to the end of the year.
